Tornado injures Kermit resident in West Texas storm
A West Texas tornado struck 18 miles east of Balmorhea injuring a Kermit woman and destroying two mobile homes at a Sharp drilling rig. Georgia Roberts suffered a broken arm. she and her family were later reported in satisfactory condition at Kermit Memorial Hospital. Three inches of rain fell at King Ranch near Balmorhea and flooding disrupted parts of Fort Stockton area as storms moved through Pecos County.

Eagles of Pecos dominate district all district list with MVP
Pecos High School placed four players on the district 2-AAA all-district team and earned the district MVP.
