Suspect Held Here On Robbery Charge
A man arrested by highway patrol near El Paso last week gave the name Carl Nolan but is identified as Barney Wallace. Wanted for robbery with firearms, automobile theft and kidnapping, he faces charges in Alice and Refugio counties and at Corpus Christi. He is held in Reeves county jail and may be tried here before transfer to other officers.

C H Davis of Kermit announces a weekly Pecos livestock sale to begin next Tuesday with Mack McDonal as auctioneer. A permanent pavilion near the Texas & Pacific stockyards will host cattle sheep goats horses mules and hogs. A celebratory Tuesday saw the first carload of oil shipped from Reeves County near Toyah. The McNuee Oil and Refining Company of El Paso bought the oil produced by Richard Shaw Anthony No. 1 well. H. F. Anthony of Pecos, owner, indicated another car could follow next week as spectators from Pecos and locals gathered.

Dr H H Puckett head of District Six of the Texas Health Department toured West Texas to gauge forming three county health groups. Reeves Ward Winkler and possibly Loving would join. Extension of WPA program could fund more school project work
The school WPA improvement project may continue with two more work periods as about $500 in government funds could remain after all tasks are finished. The board seeks a field change to add box seats at Rotary Field and seal and repaint the band house. J E Patterson from the El Paso office advised applying for the change. Seventeen eight by four and a half foot boxes would be built, and the band house on the campus would be sealed and painted inside and out.
