Digital microwave link expands West Texas network
The West Texas Telephone Company has activated the nations first fully digital multiplexed microwave network linking Van Horn Valentine and Sierra Blanca, Texas. The 11 GHz system, in service since July 10, 1972, handles 28.5 mile paths under varied conditions and is expected to guide future PCM microwave developments with Vicom and Continental Telephone System backing.
