Wilson admits borrowing from Sharpstown in Texas fraud case
Assistant Attorney General Will R. Wilson disclosed unsecured loans totaling 230000 from Sharpstown Bank and related entities. He said the latest 30000 loan was in August 1970, repaid by March this year, and defended his finances as rising from land deals and a growing law practice. Wilson, once Sharp’s attorney, denied advising on evading banking laws and said his net worth climbed to 1.3 million by 1968.

About 35 uniformed officers from districts under Sgt Melton Rasberry of Pecos and Sgt Leon Roberts of Fort Stockton completed a two day school. The program aimed to brief officers from the Highway Patrol Motor Vehicle Inspection and Weight and License divisions on changes in the Uniform Act of Texas traffic laws. Migrant Workers Move On From Pecos Harvest Areas
Several hundred migrant farm workers have left Pecos after cantaloupe onion and potato harvesting. Pelleted packing sheds shut as Alexander Marketing finishes cantaloupe fields. Workers move north south with some returning to Rio Grande Valley and others to Bovina. Cantaloupe onions and potatoes shipped across Texas and beyond. Balmorhea pool to close Monday through Thursday then reopen for weekend, season ends after weekend.
