A broad arc of North Central and Northwest Texas saw rain as thundershowers moved north into Oklahoma. Dallas experienced a violent thunderstorm with 2.2 inches of rain and a power and police radio outage in Highland Park, while University Park reported home damage from a strike. Fire crews rescued a woman from a downstream flood near downtown Dallas as the state otherwise remained warm and partly cloudy. The National Weather Service forecast more scattered showers across western and northern Texas with isolated Coastal Plains activity.

Hitchhiker Witnesses Fatal Shooting of Husband Near Amarillo
A hitchhiker described a confrontation ending when a man shot Takahashi twice in the chest after an altercation with her husband and the gunman. The couple, left stranded, were later found near Memphis after being driven to an Amarillo restaurant by a motorist. Dallas considers college credit rule for police officers
