Payson Town Council and School Board form a joint committee to study a community pool. Keith Hollinger outlines the plan and a rough $300,000 construction estimate. New ordinances prohibit pavement destruction without a permit and a surety bond, with repairs governed by town standards.
The council plans a federal matching fund pool project with the town and school district sharing 150000 each of the total 300000 cost. A committee will study applications for federal funds with July 1975 as the earliest submission date. Other items include dog pound talks with the Payson Humane Society, opposition to a financial disclosure law, donations of an American flag and a town hall sign, Payson Day at the State Fair on Nov 6, and consideration of street lighting at Highways 87 and 260.
District I Supervisor Lynn Sheppard said he neither supports nor opposes a Gila County split and would help if that is the people's wish. He urged fact checking amid concerns over tax and service disparities. Mrs Insche emphasized improving communication as the main issue.
Mrs Insche cites a purpose in a report while The Round Up failed to obtain documents read by Sheppard. Sheppard promised copies for Tuesday morning but left town before delivering them.
