Pilot and teacher’s Alaska to Payson aviation saga
A.H. Davidson, lifelong bachelor and famed pilot instructor, built a touring aviation life from cottonwood to Payson to Alaska. He taught Navy cadets and WASPS, owned multiple aircraft, helped found Payson Flying Service, prospected uranium, and later cared for Payson’s airport while flying for forest service and Alaska projects. He recalls barnstorming, early field needlework, and a lifestyle now altered by development.
