Payson blood drive seeks relief amid shortages
Pat Guin, coordinator, urges participation as Blood Services of Arizona returns for Payson’s fifth drive today from noon to 7 p.m. at the Elk’s Lodge. No appointment needed. Eligibility excludes malaria or hepatitis history, recent pregnancy or major surgery, or tuberculosis. Donation is brief and painless. donors receive a six month protection plan and potential free blood if needed. Employers urged to allow employees time off to donate.

Payson Firemen Suspensions Upheld by Town Council
The Payson town council upheld suspensions of two firemen, Donald Rose and Madeline Bell, for actions bringing discredit on town services. Rose was fired for disobeying orders. Bell was reinstated after a 30 day suspension. The council also created a committee to study the summer recreation program and addressed complaints about shopping center clearing at highways 87 and 260. A bid of 4090 dollars was approved to repair December 1974 fire station damage.
