Payson considers second offer for water system purchase
The Payson town council, after an executive session, plans a second offer of 600,000 for United Utilities Water Company's system. A prior offer of 245,952, made July 15, was rejected by UUWCo’s board September 30. Darrell Carpenter called the first offer ridiculous. Copies will go to the bankruptcy court and creditors committee as the company edges toward liquidation amid Chapter 11 proceedings begun January 30, 1975.
