Payson area schools report rising student numbers with Pine Elementary up 10 percent to 93 from 85 and elementary enrollment at 620, up from 560. The menu lists meals for August 30 and August 31. On August 30 including beanie weenie, cole slaw, hot rolls and butter, fruit cup, and milk. On August 31 chicken fried steak with whipped potatoes and gravy, lettuce and tomato salad, and hot rolls.

Open Math to Include Parent Course on KAET TV
ASU faculty and KAET TV announce Open Math, a television correspondence series for teachers and a new parents course. Adults enroll for three credits, watch each program, read the book, complete a home activity, and diary their experiences for tutor feedback. No exams or campus visits required. Premieres Sept 7 at 7 am with weekly broadcasts on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Applications are being taken for 15 openings in the Payson Head Start program for children aged 3 to 4. The signup deadline is September 1 with classes starting September 13. Visit the Head Start office at 601 W. Fronter from 8 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday.
