Payson Area News Briefs Highlight Local Happenings
Tom Miller remains in Payson Hospital after a Thursday heart attack. The Payson Chamber of Commerce will hold an open directors meeting at the Payson Country Club for the current quarter. New members include Alpine Card and Specialty Shop, Payson Trailer Ranch, Copper Cloud Restaurant, Edward and Mary Lou Bayless, D. K. Specialties, Gerald E. and Betty Miller, and the Pinon Cafe. Richard Nixon of San Clemente, California was seen at Tonto Natural Bridge last week. John Sturges has returned from a two week stay in Doctors Hospital in Phoenix. Meredith will be one of two Gila County delegates to the Arizona Town Hall at the TiO Rio Rico Inn April 21 to 24. Thirteen members attended the Senior Citizens Club worship service at the First Southern Baptist Church. A public square dance is set for Saturday at 7 30 pm at the Fun in the Sun recreation hall with Alex Nagy of Glendale as caller.

Two Babies Born to Pine County Families
A son named Joseph James Black was born Friday at Payson Hospital to James and Nancy Black of Pine, weighing 6 pounds 6 3/4 ounces and 19 1/2 inches long. A daughter named Kristen Marjorie Simmons arrived Friday to Byron and Kathleen Simmons of Payson, measuring 20 1/2 inches and weighing 7 pounds 13 1/4 ounces.
