First ralls of the Payette Valley Railroad extension from New Plymouth to Emmett were spiked in place today. Grading the dump and track laying proceed. supplies arrive daily. General Manager Dunn aims to complete track and run trains to Fulks Store by July Fourth, with a celebratory run from New Plymouth.
Memorial exercises scheduled Monday May 30 in Payette with grave decorating by W R C and G A R members, parade at 2 p m from I C O F Hall through downtown to school grounds. June 14 circus visit announced for Payette with Boise, Payette and Dal City stops, large show promoted by Donn of Payette Valley road.
The June 14 ballot in Canyon County will ask residents of New Plymouth and Fruitland to approve funding for two new Payette River bridges. Proponents say the bridges and better roads will support regional growth, boost valuations, and unify county development.
Mothers Day observance is noted. Children’s Day is planned for the first Sunday in June. Ellen Hill was baptized after confessing faith last week. The minister begins a tour of state churches June 16 20 for the state convention. Evening sermons focus on first principles and New Testament theology. Sealed bids for a heating plant to heat an eight room brick school building will be received and opened at the Board of Education office in Independent School District No. 32 Payette Canyon County Idaho on Friday June 10 1910 at o'clock p.m. Plans and specifications may be seen at the architect Chas Button Payette. The Oregon Short Line Railroad offers round trip tickets from Payette Idaho to Portland Oregon for the Fourth Annual Rose Festival. Priced at 17.65 dollars, tickets valid June 11 to June 15 1910 with final return limit and stopovers allowed. Agent G F P Johnson announces.
Payette Valley growers foresee a record year shipping more car loads of apples prunes and pears than ever before with Jonathan apples particularly abundant. Growers report excellent stands across varieties and anticipate heavy thinning to manage surplus as they expect strong demand and high yields throughout the valley.
After June first the Payette National and the First National Banks will stay open until four o'clock each afternoon instead of closing at three. The change supports farmers and fruit growers busy with crops, who cannot leave ranches and orchards earlier in the day. Both banks expect a busy season and will extend hours to accommodate late trips to town.

Local youths are urged to attend, enjoy the music, and support the band’s director, instruments, and expenses. The event is set for Friday evening, May 27, inviting the community to have a fun night out while sustaining the band.

The Payette Commission Co. comes under J. B. Long and Tracy as Frank Crighton leaves this week to attend to family and health matters. He plans to return and assist if possible after June, otherwise Long and Tracy will run the business. They pledge strong service and growth for Payette. Mio Edna Peterson and W A Channey plan a quiet Boise ceremony at the Johnson home officiated by Rev George Turner. Peterson, a Payette educator, will become Mrs Channey and the couple will reside on Ada Avenue in Payette after a brief Boise stopover. Channey, a leading Payette businessman with Channey and Sellars, is noted for his community involvement.
Last week Wm Ireton sold most holdings north of the city to J D Baker and H G Baker including his residence and alfalfa fields for 10000 and 8 acre orchard for 8000 through Payette Valley Realty. J D Haleor and H C Baker moved to the valley investing in land. Mrs Libby G Wood sold 50 acres to L P Hill for 4500 two miles north of New Plymouth. Payette Lumber Co bought 16 acres of timber land on the Payette river for 2500. Palace Pharmacy ad.
The Payette High School class of 1910 staged The Merchant of Venice up to date to a packed audience Friday. Disappointed patrons unable to seat were offered a Monday reprise, with the senior class again delivering strong performances for local residents.
