Pumping Plant Sol Tle Sold to Baker City Works

The pumping plant two miles west of Payette on the Oregon side, once installed by Col. C. F. St, was sold to Baker City Machine Works and will be moved by Independent Transfer Co next week. The plant cost about 7500 but failed due to insufficient power. Baker City also bought the relief of the old Prestel mill to move simultaneously.

Local Angling Records Fall As Sizeable Bass Landed

A report from Mr B A Blair and Nova Lathrop notes a six pound five ounce black bass at 22 inches and a seven pound bass with a five pound catch nearby. Several larger basses reportedly struck and escaped, marking the largest catches reported in the region so far this spring.

Payette Defeats Parma In Low Scoring Game

Payette won 18 to 4 at Parma in a game dominated by strong pitching and a long homer by Alexander. Parma’s Stockton hit a late homer, and Alexander’s sixth inning drive with two on energized Payette. Lattig’s seventh inning fielding standout helped avert further Parma scoring as the Payette club attracted a large supportive crowd.

Miss Velma Spalding daughter of Mr and Mrs L W Spauldin of this city has accepted a responsible position as superintendent of histetics in a newly built Fresno California hospital of 150 rooms. The Partners Co operative Creamery Co reports its best month since founding, producing 93 000 pounds of butter and aiming for 100 000 by May. April prices averaged 3 to 6 cents above Idaho standards. Cream prices charging 46 cents for cream and 37 cents for sour cream. A carload of unsalted butter shipped to Los Angeles for ice cream stock.
