Payette County Band to Perform Saturday Evening Concerts

Mr J H Stoner announces Saturday evening concerts by the Payette County Band starting this week. The group, in summer months, has shown rapid musical progress under Mr Stoner’s guidance. R L Bradshaw was chosen president of the Payette Chamber of Commerce to fill the vacancy left by J H Davis. The board met Friday evening and Bradshaw, described as a lively booster, urged members to support him. The next regular meeting is Friday the 18th.

Valentine Mercer of Payette Idaho died Sunday after a brief illness at his home on first avenue south He was born April 22 1861 in Adel Iowa and married Anna Johnson January 2 1891 He leaves a wife seven children two brothers and four sisters Funeral services were held Monday at the Methodist church Riverside cemetery interment followed Also notes a community paint day event and thanks to helpers.
