Payette Valley Fruit Prospects In California Visit

C H Cutting, traveling freight agent for the San Pedro Salt Lake and Los Angeles Railroad, visited Payette late this week to gauge fruit crops and business. He notes four carloads of Payette Valley apples shipped to Los Angeles last year, praised the fruit, and predicted a bright market and excellent outlook for a good crop this year.

Favorable report from Ringling Brothers shows good patronage in Payette for the Flo to show though next western tour may bypass Payette due to routing. Local society notes include Miss Van Buskirk and Charles Aldrich marriage announced in Scotts Bluff Nebraska and plans to reside on Seventh Street in Payette after July 11. Payette Meat Co dissolves partnership with Cyrus Williams and D W Shelton, Mr Williams retiring from the firm. Enterprise Meat Market taken over by John H. Redmore, with D W Shelton continuing at City Market. Traversing visitors include D W Dunn traveling auditor of Southern Pacific visiting Payette.

Payette adjourned council session debates street opening and ordinances

The Payette city council in adjourned session presided by Mayor Brannock discussed opening Eighth Street to Sixth Avenue South and considered bonds for Snake River Bridge, City Hall Ponds, and Sewer District No. 2. Actions included donating fill for a waste ditch, authorizing tin sprigging wagons, accepting city reports, entering electric sign contract, and passing several ordinances related to streets weeds lighting and special municipal bonds. The session adjourned with notice of next meeting.

The group closed at Mrs M Albert home and the Guild announced the fall return after completing a study and book The Advance for the Antilles.
