Payette Edges Emmett In Glassy Ball Showdown

Payette defeated Emmett three to one before about thirty fans. Emmett scored in the fourth on a RBI single by Rube Eaton. Payette added two runs in the seventh, with Chapman drawing a walk and K Burns driving in both runners. Darnall stole second and Bowman later scored on a long drive to left.

Local option petition circulates for election on intoxicating liquors

Petitions circulated in Payette County for a resubmission of the local option question on liquor sales. Under local option law, a petition signed by forty percent of voters can compel the county commissioners to call an election. Petitions are also being circulated in Nampa Caldwell Emmett Parma and other towns with broad support.

Farewell Party For Miss Schmorr On Way To Portland

Miss Alice Chapin hosted a farewell party Tuesday evening in honor of Miss Schmorr who departs for Portland on Wednesday. Guests played 190 and enjoyed refreshments. A Pretty Home Wedding in June at Clanton Home

Miss Mary Clanton and Louis Cumberland wed Sunday evening June 4 at the Clanton residence with Rev. McCombe of the Baptist church officiating. The bride wore cream silk with satin trim. Violet Clanton and Milas Clara Edwards served as bridesmaid and Jessie Stiner as best man. The rooms displayed white and yellow roses, and a large table of refreshments fed thirty five guests. Death of E R Ovens Remembers Reticent Idaho Citizen

The death of E R Ovens occurred last Saturday morning. He was a longtime resident and manager of the Idaho Canning Company, respected in business and civic circles. Remains were shipped to Albany New York on Sunday after short Masonic services. Portia Club notes a meeting schedule change due to the president’s absence at the Grand Lodge of the Eastern Star, with the next meeting set for June 26 at Mrs Erwin’s home. no meeting on June 12.
