Governor James H. Brady visits Payette for the Y M C A building anniversary celebration. He tours the Payette Valley railroad, attends a noon luncheon, and speaks on the role of the Y M C A in developing youth and citizenship. Local officials and residents welcome him with receptions and a large gym crowd observes the event.

Attention notice for the Modern Woodmen of America announces a regular meeting on Wednesday evening March 2. It urges all members to attend and to call 72 Ind. for dress making information under the commissioner's order.

Cap ital News notes Calwell Milling Elevator Co will build an elevator and warehouse for grain and feed in Payette this year. Capacity 40 000 bushels grain plus 30 000 bushels in the warehouse and space for food and pay. Construction to begin when weather permits as part of a broader southern Maho covering project.

The Endeavor lecture series begins next Sunday at 6 30 p m on Gospel Triumphs on the Congo. The minister will launch a series on Reasons Why next Sunday aimed at members with all invited. Laymen’s Missionary convention at Boise March 10 and 11 is announced. The annual foreign mission day is the first Sunday in March with offerings planned. Prayer meetings are set for 7 30 p m Wednesday led by different members. A funeral service for Bro Orcutt’s mother was held last Tuesday with a large turnout despite a snowstorm. The issue notes local social events, visits, and classified items including shoe repairs and pullets for sale.
Fruitland Idaho celebrates the opening of Fruitland State Bank capitalized at 10000 dollars. Hi Sargent presides as president with J C Scritchfield cashier and local growers among the early depositors. The bank resides in a new stone and brick building with a manganese steel vault and triple time lock.
The Idaho Central railroad is expected to miss New Plymouth by about three miles prompting local residents to seek clarification. A Salt Lake interview with Short Ling officials is planned by New Plymouth’s commercial club to verify the proposed route. The week featured Governor Bundy’s reception at the Y M C A with a large turnout and a formal dinner hosted by Col. and Mrs. Patch in his honor.
The first annual military ball by Company T at Elite Opera House on Washington's Birthday drew a large crowd. The hall was decorated in national colors with stacked arms on stage and a military tent. Paul Kenstein's orchestra played fine dance music and the floor was in excellent condition. Company T members earned praise for their entertaining hospitality and attendees look forward to next year's event.
