Neighbors saw two tough men carrying a big bundle matching the suspects’ description. Ontario and Payette officers were notified. clothing and suspects remain unfound. Also concerns arise over the Payette Valley Railroad bridge and its readiness to handle spring supplies.

Death of Lemuel Pratt Shocks Payette Residents
Payette mourns the sudden death of Lemuel Pratt a longtime resident. Born February 26 1843 in Dover Maine he served in the Fourteenth Iowa Infantry. He married Julia Qey in 1865 and had five children. The family moved to Payette in 1900 where he resided until his death. Funeral services will be held at the Brethren church on Sunday with details pending due to distance and train arrivals.
