Swimming Pool Fund Subscriptions Falter Over Water Costs

The committee raising 1000 for a swimming pool reports strong local support with many subscriptions though the plan stalls. City water costs force withdrawal of water supply and delay construction until next year. Checks are being returned but renewals are planned this fall to create a pool above the Big Ditch when water warms.

Mr. C H Robertson posed a riddle to the Enterprise asking the relation of two black men on the street seen together. One tall man claimed the other boy was his son but denied being his father. The puzzle asks readers under twelve to name the relation for a 60 cent prize.

Farmers Enjoy Treat After Canal Repair

Workers who finished repairing the Farmers Co-operative Canal ten miles beyond New Plymouth last Friday received a pleasant surprise at the camp. Mr. Wagner, manager of the Co-operative Creamery Co., arrived as repairs ended and shared a ten gallon ice cream freezer with about one hundred farmers from the area. The two week project followed a strenuous job.

Drowning Near Payette Claims Life Of Bryan Koch

Bryan Koch, 23, of Ontario, drowned in the Snake River Sunday afternoon while swimming with his brother in law T R Tayto and two sisters. The body was recovered Monday morning by J W Farson and sent to Twin Falls for burial. He is survived by his mother in Twin Falls, two sisters, and two brothers.

Mr and Mrs L W Spaulding and daughter Velma returned Monday evening from a five day visit to Yellowstone National Park. They toured the principal sights and Mr Spaulding gave a comprehensive description of the park and how to plan a systematic visit.
