Ruling on Georgia road fund situation discussed

A preliminary report from the attorney general's office says the proper Georgia agency to receive 10 million dollars in federal road funds is a matter for state courts. Withholding funds stems from a dispute between Governor Talmadge and former Highway Commission members.

Thomas County Masons Hold Bi Monthly Convention in Thomasville

Members from all Thomas County Masonic lodges gathered with Thomasville lodge for the bi monthly convention. Grand Secretary Frank F. Baker and W J Penn spoke on Georgia history tied to the Bi centennial. Refreshments followed and the next session is planned for October with another program expected.

Blakely Youth Dies in Stream Diving Accident

Successful Revival Ends at Baptist Church After Ten Days

The ten day revival at the local Baptist church closed last night drawing large crowds. Pastor Rev W G Stracener delivered inspiring messages that benefited members and non members. Several additions to church membership were announced and baptismal services are planned for next Sunday afternoon. Regular services and Sunday School are scheduled for Sunday with a public invitation to attend.
