John Foster Chance born May 11 1882 in Foster township Marion county died September 10 after a long illness. He was a husband father and grandfather who farmed in youth later ran a business in Patoka and served on the National Farm Program and county committee. Survived by Grace Odine Irvin his son Harold Dean and three grandchildren Janet Dean and QGhenyl plus sister Mae Logan and brother Elza. He was active in Zion Methodist Church and remembered as a helpful neighbor.
