Many Quail Offer Good Hunting for Sportsmen
Approximately one million quail will be bagged in the coming season starting November 10. Thomas J. Lynch, Director of the Department of Conservation, says quail are abundant in southern counties and in about 15 northern and central counties. Hunting licenses show a marked increase, with large quail reports mainly in Daviess, Henry, La Salle, Mercer, Rock Island, Stephenson, Stark, Brown, Cass, Vermilion, and Fulton counties and all counties south of an east west line through Springfield.
