Mrs. Bessie Murray and Loren Barnes wed in Morgan Kentucky on October 17. The ceremony united the daughters of local families. Mrs. Barnes is a home beauty shop operator, and Mr. Barnes is a farmer from west of town. After a brief honeymoon they returned home Wednesday evening.
The IPARENT Teachers Council of 100 met in the gym to discuss the High School project and vote on the October 29 ad. Orville Schroeder announced the carnival program and committee assignments. Anna Ballance outlined acts including a movie on eyes, a basketball film, musical numbers, readings, and a talent show with master of ceremonies Professor James.
The October Ladies Work Club gathering at Mrs Florence Simcox’s Main Street home drew all members except Mrs Oven. New officers were elected with E L DeLay as President, Lessm as Vice President, O J with assistant J F Mat as Secretary Treasurer, and E L DeLay announced a petal guessing contest from a chrysanthemum display. Eisie Gray won a prize for the closest guess as the group enjoyed refreshments. At Patoka Methodist Church M W Friesner, Pastor, church school at 9:30, worship at 10:45, youth fellowship 6:45, evening service 7:30, and prayer at 5:30 Thursday. Happy Birthday was sung for J W Alexander, Larry Lawrence and Bob Nattier.
Paul Brown pastor leads Sunday School at 10:00 a.m. with preaching, 9:30 a.m. worship and 10:30 a.m. Bible Study. Evening Worship at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday Ladies Aid at 7:30 p.m. Emil Wattier superintendent announces services with Training Union and Thursday Prayer Meet. Brotherhood meeting noted for Friday Oct 21 with Johnny and Emil. Dean Walker zone mentioned with parents Mr and end.
