Former Patoka Man Found Dead in St Louis Home
Eugene Gray aged 44 was found dead in a room at Augustus Wallman’s home in St Louis with a revolver by his side. He lived at 1016 North 18th Street Patoka and had recently traveled to Tennessee then California for work. An inquest was held with a possible murder theory. survivors include wife Mattie Odell and children Eugene Jr and Clara, plus siblings and father. Gray had a long life as a telegraph operator with service in Alaska Coblenz and World War II era.
