Explosions Damage Four Tractors On Illinois Pipe Line Work
Four Copterpillar tractors used by I. C. Little Construction Co. on an Illinois Pipe Line Co. project near Patoka were blown apart Sunday night. Explosives wrecked engines and transmissions, injuring about 15,000 dollars in machinery. Investigators named possible labor trouble but found no definite explosive type.

Carless Driving Worse Than High Speed in Fatalities
H. H. Harrison of the Illinois Division of Highways says driver misconduct such as stop sign violations, crossings carelessness, drunk driving, and wrong way operation cause most highway deaths. Fewer than six percent of Illinois drivers exceed 60 mph, while defective vehicles also contribute. only 11 percent of 26 000 cars checked had both good brakes and lights.
