Aid Demonstration Sunday at Scott Field

A major aid demonstration and air and tank exhibit will unfold at Scott Field near Belleville Illinois on Sunday June 27 1937. Organizers led by George N Montague Commander of the Louis 124th F Pest No Css say the War Department backs the event as the greatest tactical air demonstration in Southern Illinois. Bombers attack and pursuit planes from across the U S join infantry tanks from Jefferson Barracks Missouri and the Sixth Infantry Band. A Sons of The American Legion track and field meet features more than forty squads with rifle teams and a drum and bugle corps contest with cash prizes. Two Pappy Cheshire radio shows will air in the afternoon and state officials attend the program. East St Louis Post coordinates crowd handling for up to 50000 attendees.
