Centralia Man Killed in Auto Wreck Wednesday
R. H. Jones, a well known Centralia resident, was instantly killed north of town when his Ford V-8 skidded off the pavement, crashed into a tree after a bridge tire blowout. A companion suffered severe bruises but recovered after emergency care.

Local Boy to Get Degree At S I N U Friday
Lowell Francis Belcher of Patoka will graduate from Southern Illinois State Normal University with a Bachelor of Education degree Friday morning June 2 in the 64th annual commencement.
