Pugh Couple Mark 80th Wedding Anniversary

Mr and Mrs Bruce Pugh celebrated their 80th wedding anniversary on Saturday February 12 with a family dinner at 6 pm in Patoka Missouri. The couple have four children Paul Walker Robert and Dean and Conrad Haefner and eight grandchildren. Four grandchildren Alan Karen Emil Dean and Paulette celebrated birthdays.

Vernon and Patoka Women Observe World Day of Prayer

Jim Wasem son of Mr and Mrs James Wasem earns Dean's Scholarship List for second straight semester at Illinois Wesleyan University Bloomington. Willing Workers Class Meeting With Crossword Fun

Willing Workers held a Thursday evening class meeting in the Methodist Church basement with Sue Talbot as president and Shirley Griffin reading the secretary's report. The event featured a Biblical crossword contest and an Abraham Lincoln quiz with many members attending, followed by Valentine refreshments served by Robert Eagan and Dorothy Griffin.

Miss Marie Black Crowned FFA Chapter Sweetheart

Miss Marie Black sister of Tokopa FFA president was named FFA Chapter Sweetheart at the February 14 Valentine Party. She received a white satin FFA Sweetheart Jacket from her brother Frank, with retiring Sweetheart Martha McWhirter crowning her with a crown of hearts. The citation highlighted aims such as Community Service Thrift Leadership Recreation Scholarship and Love of Country Life. Afterward FFA members served refreshments in the cafeteria.
