Armstrong Rites Held for Elderly Belgrade Resident

Robert O Armstrong 75 retired farmer died Wednesday in Belgrade Montana from heart disease. Born March 23, 1864 in Richview Illinois he married Mary Hooper in 1897. Surviving are widow daughter son and several siblings and grandchildren. funeral held Friday at Dokken's chapel Bozeman.

D D Club Entertained at Elliott Home for Christmas

The D. D. Club enjoyed a December 19 gathering hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Elliott east of Central. Decorations, a Christmas tree, contests, a gift exchange, and refreshments followed a business meeting that elected new officers. Attendees included Mr. and Mrs Carroll Mojonnier, Mr. and Mrs Wilbur Doolen, Mr. and Mrs Homer Outhouse, Mr. and Mrs Orville Genre, and Mr. and Mrs Ralph Elliott.

Birthday Party for Virginia Stringer’s Ninth

Mrs W D Stringer hosted a birthday party for her daughter Virginia Stringer who turned nine. Children enjoyed many games with Ruby Veal and Jesse Ripple winning prizes. Hi Lite Class Holds Christmas Party at Miss Field's Home

The Hi-Lite class of the Christian Church gathered for their annual Christmas party at Miss Lucille Field's home with co hosts Mrs Harriett Smith. Gifts were placed under the tree and officers for the coming year were elected including President Gladys Perrine and Vice President Arlene Bopp.

Guests brought gifts and a pudding with whipped cream and coffee were served by Mrs. Erie Lusted and Miss Jones. Annual Christmas Party Held By Local Club

Mrs. Fred Carter and Mrs. Sara Pugh hosted the annual Christmas party at the latter’s home. Guests enjoyed games, mystery pals, and new member introductions. A fund for next year’s party was started and refreshments were served.

Journey Transferred Here After Sandoval School Destroyed by Fire

Caroline Parker of Marion County died at age 76 after a fire destroyed Sandoval School. Survived by five children, one daughter, thirteen grandchildren, a great-grandchild, four stepchildren, and many relatives. Funeral held December 28, 1939 at Pairman Church with Rev. Clichton officiating. interment in Patoka Cemetery.

Patoka High School to host Northern Feyotian Conference Tournament

The Patoka High School hosts the Northern Feyotian Conference tournament January 3 4 and 6 1940 after Sandoval High School building fire forced transfer. Fortnightly games begin at 7 00 p m with two games nightly and admission set at adults and 15 cents for students. Attendees from Sandoval Odin Farina Kinmundy Ashley and Patoka compete with plans already nearly complete before the fire.
