The Vernon Woman's Society of Christian Service met July 27 at Mrs. Hazel Cox home with 12 members present. Mrs. Bee Doolen opened the meeting and Mrs. Marjorie Bassett led the missionary lesson. Members shared reports and vacation experiences, and refreshments were served.
Miss Opal Jones and Mrs. Mildred Norris attended the show in Vandalia Sunday afternoon. The Bridge Club met at Mrs. Alice Wilson’s home Thursday evening with two tables in play. High prize went to Mrs. Eva Potts and low to Isabel Doolen. Marie Hathaway won the floating prize. Refreshments were served to Isabel Doolen, Hazel Cox, Minnie Peddicord, Marie Hathaway, Eva Potts, Jessie Binnion, and Helen Easley. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Leniger returned from a month’s vacation in Albuquerque New Mexico.
