The East St. Louis Giants defeated Patoka 9 to 2 on Sunday. Patoka pitcher Brooks Meador allowed twelve hits while Giant Steaveson yielded only three. Patoka's runs came on a DeLay double in the second and a Belcher homer in the third. Belcher added a single in the eighth. William Godel born April 8 1870 in Finkenbach Germany died July 25 1950 at Lutheran Hospital St Louis aged 80 years 3 months 22 days. Survived by four sons a daughter eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral July 27 at Altenheim Chapel and Augsburg church cemetery with Rev Fred Mueller officiating.
