The Upper Hastings Ranch Association launched its membership drive at a Black Captain's Polluck Dinner on Saturday night November 4 hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Joe Cork. Chairwoman Barbara Short announced a goal of 1,000 homeowner memberships while noting steady yearly growth. The San Dimas Mountain Rescue Team received a unit citation from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department at Mountain Meadows Golf Course in La Verne for saving a three year old after a car plunged over a mountain on September 3. Sheriff Peter Pitchers praised their quick action in the inaccessible area and dedication to service.
Pasadena City College plans a Roaring 20s themed homecoming for November 18 to honor the Pioneer Class of 1925 with a week of events.
