Cycle Victim Rites Set Wednesday

Funeral services are planned for Wednesday in Fresno for John R. McCabe 30 of Pasadena who died Sunday from injuries from a Friday motorcycle crash in La Jolla. He worked at the Naval Undersea Research and Development Center Pasadena Laboratory and edited Seascope. He had lived in Pasadena since 1968. Survived by mother Mrs T R McCabe and brother James, both of Fresno. Contributions may be made to the Mach of Dimas.

Explosion reported near Pasadena and Altadena area

Pasadena police and Altadena sheriff's deputies investigated a blast along the western edges of Pasadena and Altadena Sunday evening. Authorities said no source was found and inquiries continued into Monday afternoon as investigators followed tips and checked guides for clues.

City to seek HUD funds for four acre park project

Pasadenans' Son Dies While Diving

Gary M. Simonson 4, son of Norman and Mrs. Simonson of Hastings Ranch, died after depths of 120 feet and 100 feet during a night diving class off Santa Catalina Island. An electronics engineer for Howard Hughes, he signaled difficulty, received resuscitation at Harbor Hospital, and died on arrival. Funeral at Grace Lutheran Church Pasadena Thursday at 2 pm with interment at Rose Hills Memorial Park.
