Welfare Controversy Prompts Town Resolution
The town council passed a resolution to have a property owner remove an encroaching fence and to urge provincial welfare officials in The Pas to curb noisy parties and drinking. Neighbors complain of disturbances, lack of water supply, and drunks banging on doors and cussing residents’ wives and daughters.

The Dal for scholarly writing in history was awarded to Frank Hall Public Relations Officer of the Manitoba Department of Education. Hall is known in The Pas and Northern Manitoba for contributions to the Trappers Festival booklet. The Margaret McWilliams Award stems from a legacy by Margaret McWilliams former Manitoba Historical Society president and author.
