School Division funds earmarked for new indoor pool project
From the town budget, $27 000 from the School Division will flow into the capital plan for a new indoor pool. Councillor Doug McBride says the land deal is "found money" for the pool, with about $24 000 directed to the pool and the rest for land-trade expenses with McMillan Properties. The School Division also expressed interest in purchasing 1 1/2 to 2 acres near the Town Public Works yard, with a potential lease discussed to cover future town needs. They aim to use the land for transportation operations and bus storage, planning a shop for three buses, but financing methods depend on site selection.
