Festival Committee Confirms Proposals for The Pas Queen Event

Festival planners announced at the regular meeting that preparations are on track for a major riverfront celebration. Winnipeg guests Len Andre Roy Joseph and Cliff Gardner will host stage shows on Thursday and Friday. The Pas Blues faced a Queen candidate dispute but the plan was amended to allow independent candidacy from The Pas Blues while keeping The Pas Reserve candidates separate to encourage Indian participation and ensure a Queen contest with multiple contenders. The prize hunt for the ice worm, a $100 prize partly funded by Roger Chartrand, is outlined with daily clues. A new chairman is sought to restart the Mara thon Snowshoe race as part of the festival setup.
