Indian Days canoe race awards mark centennial events
The Opasquia Indian Days featured a $1,000 cheque from Marcel Chartier of Wescana Hotels to Joe Ross, celebrating continued sponsorship growth from $500 to $1,000 over the years. Irvin Constant won the Eagle award and Brian Lundy the Hawk award for top junior and senior athletes. The treasure hunt ended mid afternoon on the final day at Francis Harris’s home, with the $25 prize found in a swallow’s nest.
