RCMP reports a rash of outboard motor thefts in The Pas with six motors stolen since boating season began. Staff Sergeant Cutts urges boat owners to store gear under lock and key and take greater care to prevent further thefts while investigations continue with little evidence thus far.
Wescana Hotels grows through 1970 71 and 72 adding the Silver Leaf Windsorian Nor thern Inn Cambrian Hotel Red Deer Motor Hotel Lorraine Apartments Grand Rapids Hotel and Hudson Hotel to its portfolio. Plans include a 15 unit motel in Grand Rapids and a 16 unit ultra-modern addition to New Gillam Hotel. Headquartered in Winnipeg run by Mr Chartier and his wife Delores.
