Noise Control By Law First Reading In The Pas
Town council of The Pas passes first reading of a noise control by law on July 19 to regulate ringing bells horn blowing shouting and fireworks and restrict noisy industrial machines to 85 decibels outside parcels. Council questions hydro arena costs above initial authorization from 1965 referendum. Four by-laws totalled 31 060 00 in levies, leaving 293 940 00. Arena debenture of 249 000 00 issued at 9.25 percent, balance 44 940 00. A by law for 44 940 00 debentures was introduced after the discovery of errors. The municipal auditor noted 25 000 00 excess spending, raising total arena deficit to 69 000 00 requiring a three year capital levy from taxes.

Three Local Men Tour Russia
Three residents of The Pas returned from a three week Russia tour. Martin Koshowski owner of the Tamarack Motel joined by Mike and John Yaworski traveled to Moscow and Kiev then to Ternipol, visiting four cities and their surroundings. Mike and John immigrated from a small village.
