Two Car Crash on Fischer Avenue Injures Two
A late Tuesday crash on Fischer Avenue left two people injured and hospitalized. Claire T. Simpson in a southbound four wheel drive jeep escaped serious harm, wearing a seat belt, while James St. Onge's Corvair collided with the Jeep, sending it onto its side. St. Onge and his juvenile passenger were hospitalized, with the girl placed in intensive care. Police will continue investigation.

Mink Rescued From Bridge In The Pas
John Constant of The Pas Reserve spotted Ahab Mink hanging from Bignell Bridge over the Saskatchewan River. He looped his belt to the man and called in Rick Johnson and Constable Boyle who stabilized the scene. Mink was pulled to safety by Constant and Mink.

Quick Thinking Saves Two From Drowning at Clearwater Lake
Mike Pesiak, a Clearwater Lake resident, heard cries for help while on the dock. He rushed to his shed for an outboard and gas, rowed through heavy waves, and pulled one man from the water by his pants seat as the other gripped his boat, narrowly saving two lives.

The Wescana Inn opens in The Pas as part of the Wescana Hotels expansion. The two story brick structure offers four units including two executive suites with individual air conditioning and on site bath facilities.
