RCMP reports six outboard motors stolen as boating season opens. Staff Sergeant Cutts urges boat owners to store motors and gear under lock and key, noting thefts have been easy to commit. Investigation continues with limited evidence so far.

Plans include ultra modern units in Wabowden Gillam and a 15 unit motel in Grand Rapids while damages and court action against a driver are noted.
An incident led to the arrest of Mr. Cook after a mishap. He was taken into custody and subjected to a breathalyzer test by the R.C.M.P. He was subsequently charged with impaired driving.
Mr Pesiak aided two men who were in the water and asked if they wished to return to his place to dry out. The men chose mile 25 and one appeared disturbed. They offered the canoe to the rescuer if he could retrieve it from the water. He returned later.
