School Lunch Room Set to Open Next Monday
Mrs. Leone Lyman, supervisor of the County School District lunchrooms, announces the lunch room at Parowan, Tligh, and grade schools will reopen next Monday to aid distant riders and bus students. Parowan announces an $800 quota for the United War Fund Drive to cover needs of Relief agencies for 1945 46 and 47. The Future Farmers of America Chapter at Parowan High School held its officer elections last week. Elected were Clayton Tullis president, Jimmy Benson vice president, Garth Whitney secretary, Jean Rolling treasurer, Oleen Hatch and Buddy Orton reporters, Lyle Evans watch-dog, with Lyle Mortensen and Tony Dalton as delegates. Mrs. Thomas Davenport and daughter Gretta left for Salt Lake City to attend the funeral of Glen Phillip Croft, husband of former Parowan resident Lala Clark Croft, who died after several weeks illness. funeral held Tuesday at 125 North Main Street conducted by Bishop J Rees Baird.

Mrs Margaret Ann Holyoak 62 longtime Great Falls resident dies after short illness in a local hospital. Funeral at Croxford mortuary with Elder Arden Payne. body to be taken to Cowley Wyoming for burial. Born in Chester England July 13 1863 she came to the United States 63 years ago and led the Latter Day Saint Relief Society in Great Falls for 14 years and taught for 50 years. Survivors include six sons, two daughters, a brother, 40 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Former Cedar City telco manager Ernest Greer dies in Salt Lake
Ernest Greer 45 a former Mountain States Tel and Tel Cedar City manager died at his Salt Lake City home after a heart ailment. Born July 18 1900 in Wallsburg Wasatch County he was a BYU graduate and Sunday School superintendent and a Brigham Young ward leader. He married Lareda Fay Forster in the Salt Lake Temple. Survivors include his wife two brothers two sisters and two sisters in law.

Southern Utah Dairy Buys Choice Steers At Show
At the Southern D iat Livestock show in Cedar City the Southern Utah Dairy Company bought three steers from junior exhibitors. One 2950 pound steer in Class A sold for 223.25 to Mer rill Nelson of Cedar City. two in Class B weighed 951 and 1067 pounds, bought for 171.18 and 186.75 to feeder Orland Evans of Parowan and Carea Abbott of Paragonih. The steers were slaughtered at Nelson Packing and delivered to the Dairy Co. meat counter. The bidder reportedly did not disclose the Parowan connection.
