Enrollment in the college division of the Branch Agricultural College at Cedar City reaches 130 this week, 26 more than any prior year. In line with President Hoover's order Utah designates October as the legal duck and goose hunting month for 1931. Newell B. Cook, state fish and game commissioner, sets October 1 to October 31 as the hunting period and lowers the daily bag to 15 ducks and 4 geese. Possession limits are reduced to 34 birds, marking two days’ legal limit.

County and state agree on three road improvement projects
Iron County commissioners authorize a cooperative plan with the State Board Commission to fund three road betterment works. The scheme calls for 3,000 on Little Creek canyon road 6,000 on Vedtor Newcastle road this fall with fifty fifty county share on the first two projects and standard 26 percent county 74 percent state on graveling. The effort requires state advance of the county's share until year start.
