At the September meeting the board approved a 30 000 loan from Deseret National Bank at 6 percent to cover tax anticipation notes for the new term. The Edward L. Burton Co. was a loan bidder. Hamlin Valley will not have a school this winter. students will be transported to Modena instead. Mrs Rhodes had requested a school there but distances are too great for meaningful attendance.

Forest Service Plans Navajo Lake Road Survey
The Forest Service will survey this fall to decide a route for a new road from Cedar Tong Valley toward Navajo Lake. The choice is to run the road on the north or south side of the lake, with the south side currently in poor condition. Petty to Akron on Goodyear's Expense for Zeppelin Victory

City Eyes Water Feasibility After New Wells Prospected
The city advances plans to deepen wells in the canyon to extend water supply. An eight inch well at a hundred feet and a twelve inch at fifty six feet already show pumping potential. Drilling may continue with six inch casing beyond the eight inch well. If water bearing formation is found, more supplies could follow. if not, drilling stops. The council also plans to assess water rights on local streams to finance the project.

Get Rid Of Boarder Cows Says County Agent

Road work planned in Eron County this fall
District road engineer Wm Cabourn told the Board of County Commissioners in Farowan that about 8000 dollars will be spent on Cedar Newrasile and Duckhorn Flat roads. He favors using a balance to build a bridge on the Parowan road and may use teams for Buckhorn Flat labor. A Beaver County line project is set for this fall with local bids possible.
