Utah State Fair Opens Next Saturday For 53rd Year

One week remains until the Utah State Fair begins its fifty third annual session. The western show of agriculture stock raising industry education and the fine arts will feature broad exhibits and a western regional presentation by the American Jersey Cattle Club. The club will designate Utah as the regional fair, ensuring Jersey cattle displays from Pacific coast herds Northwest and southern states and the intermountain region.

Iron County Record to Welcome New Editor Bill Holmes

Will K R Holmes of Brigham City arrives to assume editorial duties at the Iron County Record if terms are agreed. Holmes, known as Bill, has led the Boxelder Journal from weekly to daily and served as Idaho and Utah press circles leader. The Times welcomes him while Alex Rollo remains active in business management. Mrs Stevens recovers from shoulder strain after a Beaver Leeds visit with Patterson and Bradshaw families.

County records show marriages issued including Forest Ben Wright of Corona California and Rosa May Goodman of Tulsa Oklahoma. Farmers adopt trench silos for corn storage this year

Parowan’s Mir. Gurr started trench silos to cheaply store corn, with eleven silos filled this year. Noting silage provides 50 percent more feed value than dried corn, the silage will mostly feed dairy cattle in the county. Named farmers include Stones, Barton, Larton, Abbott, Rohingin, Jones, Davenport, Robb, Day, Hulet, Exzplin, Pace, Berry, and others from Parowan Cedar City Kanarra Farowan.

Union Meeting To Be Held Here Sunday

Monthly Stake Union Meeting is announced for Sunday afternoon at the usual hour. The Iigh Council and Bishops are expected to meet as well. Sacrament meetings will be held in the evening and the Hast Ward program by the M. I. A. follows the service.

Clara Stevens Weds Warner in Cedar City Ceremony

Immediate friends of Miss Clara Stevens announce her marriage to Mr. Lori Warner of Cedar City. The quiet ceremony was held at the Stevens home with Bishop J. C. Mitchell officiating. Clara is a Parowan High School graduate and popular in the community. Warner is the eldest son of Cornelus Warner and manager of the Cedar City Gas Service Station. They will reside in Cedar City.

Cedar City wedding and parade for Adella Muller

Adella Muller daughter of Mr and Mrs John H Miller of this city became the wife of Cedar City’s Carl L Slallwan. The ceremony was at Bishop Adams home with Olivia A Nelson and Delta Hallman as witnesses. A merry charivari followed as the newlyweds rode an old cart dragged by a car decorated with cans bells. The couple will likely reside in Cedar City. The Times joins friends in wishing them joy. The Associsted Vie Clubs of Southern Utah plan their monthly meeting in Cedar Saturday at 7 o clock.

Boys Held For Tire And Harness Theft In Utah

Paul Morgan of Salt Lake City and MM Morris of Hinckley face ninety day terms or a $96 fine for stealing four automobile tires and a harness set. They were caught in Nephi after taking tires from Gordon Smith’s trailer in Cedar City and removing a farm harness including collars near Beaver. Sheriff Fife returned them for arraignment in Cedar where fines or a jail sentence were set. The property was later returned to the owners.
