Reeves seeks release as Justice of the Peace in Kanarraville
Iron County Commissioners heard William C. Reeves of Kanarra read a letter requesting release from his Justice of the Peace duties in Kanarraville after 58 1/2 years of service. His request was granted with a successor to be appointed soon amid praise for his faithful, accurate, prompt work. The board also approved a gravel crushing contract with George Thinat of Panaca for 20 000 cubic yards at 47 cents per yard, and announced staff changes as Stephen Brower leaves for Utah State Agricultural College with Wallace Sjoblom taking over. The panel discussed attracting a veterinarian to Iron County to inspect cattle moving in and noted potential state aid if a vet moves in. the county fair faced a $350 deficit. road delegation requests and other routine items were addressed.

Thrilling Air and Ground Acts at Utah State Fair
At the Utah State Fair crowds can expect both ground thrills from the Death Dodgers and aerial feats by the Flying Zacchinis. The Death Dodgers, led by Jimmie James, perform car stunts including two wheel driving and a high risk Dive Bomber crash, with a dramatic 85 foot leap finale. Gloria and Vicki Zacchini perform from a 75 foot cannon, catapulting into a net over 200 feet away. The Death Dodgers appear Saturday and Sunday, while the Zacchinis perform both days.

Iron County primary fills two offices in county election
Iron County voters selected two key officials in the Tuesday primary with Albert M. Marsden winning the County Attorney seat and Heber M. Levy taking the State Representative post. Republican turnout surged to nearly 2,500 ballots with strong incumbents Guymon Levy and Benson also prevailing on the GOP slate. Dems split votes as Florence Benson narrowly beat Eugene Orton for County Recorder while other contests move to November.

Gamma Globulin To Be Available After October 1
Gamma globulin for prevention of paralytic polio measles and infectious hepatitis will be available by doctors prescriptions through regular medical supply channels after October 1 1954 announced Lederle Laboratories division American Cyanamid Company. The supply this year is about twice last year's and was previously allocated to local health departments for polio epidemic areas only. Dr Kenneth S Landauer notes gamma globulin is the only proven weapon for prophylaxis against poliomyelitis and cites 1951 52 and 62 trials. He warns public confusion stemmed from mass use in 1953 timing often after peak outbreaks and calls past data still valid.
