Private First Class Howard Stubbs, son of Mr Chester Stubbs of Iron Utah, serves with the 1st Cavalry Division in Tokyo area occupation duties. He arrived overseas in December 1946 after basic training at Fort Knox and is assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Troop 2nd Squadron of the 7th Cavalry Regiment.

Mrs Stella Edwards traveled to Salt Lake City to visit husband and daughter Mrs Flossie Harris and family. Mrs Emma Edwards suffered a painful ankle injury during the visit. Orland Ward To Teach At U. Of Wyoming
Orland Ward and his wife and two sons depart Parowan for Laramie Wyoming where Ward will join the University of Wyoming Department of Health and Physical Education. William Pritchard, who would have turned 87 on October 4, died about 5:00 am Thursday at his son Sidney Pritchard’s home. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm in the Parowan East Ward Chapel.

Funeral rites for Mrs Clara Williamson Stott held in Salt Lake City
Funeral services for Mrs Clara Williamson Stott 57 of 1110 Ward North Salt Lake City were conducted Thursday at 2 pm in the Meadow Ward Chapel LDS Church. She died Sunday in a Salt Lake City hospital. Survivors include husband Roulon and a son Grant and three daughters. The obituary notes her Meadow birth, marriage in 1909, and long involvement in LDS church activities. The report also references a Centennial Celebration in Porowan with livestock shows, prizewinners, an amateur rodeo, and a drama production, with prizes to be announced next week.

Parowan Woman's Husband Dies in California Plane Crash
Dr. Ahlstrom, 26, husband of Joyce Adams Ablstrom of Parowan, was killed when a light plane crashed near Twentynine Palms, California. The 17 year old passenger, Charles Dye, ops owner of the craft, also perished. Survivors include his wife, two young daughters, mother, sister, and brother. Funeral services were held in St George.

Frazier Mitchell Seriously Injured In Truck Mishap
Frazier Mitchell living in Cedar City was seriously injured last week when a truck door opened and he fell under the vehicle. Dual wheels crushed his pelvis and broke his right femur, with other internal injuries. He remained in critical condition for days but is now showing improvement.
