Ceramics Class Planned in Parowan Adult Education
Parowan will offer a ceramics class as part of the adult education program announced by Principal Amos C. Hatch. A Monday evening meeting at 8 will discuss details. Mrs Fae Dix and Mrs Watson will attend. The class is limited to 18 students, meeting three hours weekly for 12 weeks, with state funds and an instructor provided. A study of local clays for modeling and handling is under supervision at the high school.

Year-Round Dance Studio Opens Here
Dick and Jean Lowe, veteran dance educators from Hollywood and San Francisco, establish a permanent year round studio in St. George. They will offer classes in St. George, Hurricane, and Cedar City, starting Saturday in Parowan at the West Ward Church recreation hall. Members of Dancing Masters of America, they require passing a strict examination in ability and character. Costumes will be provided for all recitals and productions staged at least twice yearly, plus programs for lodges, churches, and schools.

Funeral Services for Richard J. Liord Saturday
Funeral services for Richard J. Liord, 63, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the West Ward Chapel. A Parowan resident for 22 years, he died Thursday morning at home of a heart attack after tending animals. Born August 10, 1876 in Pine Valley, he lived as a rancher in multiple towns before settling in Parowan. He married Cora Dodds in 1903, on their 46th wedding anniversary. Survived by widow, five children Rex Lloyd Jim Lloyd Mary Giger Rita Rowley, Cora O’Bannon, two sisters, and thirteen grandchildren. Friends may call at the Parowan home Saturday from 10 a.m. until services.

Mrs. Eliza Mather Nina Robb 67 died at her Paragonah home on Wednesday afternoon from a heart attack. Funeral services are tentatively planned for Saturday, with relatives from out of town awaiting word. A fuller obituary will appear in next week’s issue.
