A new land valuation schedule for Iron County was approved by state and county representatives and the local study committee. The plan, assisted by farmers and livestock men, sets irrigation land at 50 to 10 dollars per acre, dry land lower classes, grazing at 3 to 1 dollars, and permanent pasture at 25 to 5 dollars, pending final commission confirmation.

Arlo Jensen and Mrs. Maurine Halterman Rosenberg of Parowan wed in Flagstaff Arizona in early September on their way to a Grand Canyon honeymoon. Mrs Jensen is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert L Halterman. She had lived in Los Angeles for 17 years before returning to Parowan. The Parowan Rams fell 33 to 6 at home against Cedar Redmen in a hard fought game. Rodney Bentley led the backfield with strong running while Kent Whitney and Sanford Topham stood out on the line as Parowan’s defense kept Cedar from a higher score. The Rams had scoring chances but couldn’t convert the final yard. Earlier they beat Overton 3 to 6 in a non league game near Overton, Nevada.

Son Of Former Residents Electrocuted At Thermopoli
Frank Dalton junior son of Frank and Allies Baron Dalton former Parowan residents died September 28 in Thermopolis while working for a power company. His safety belt failed as he descended a pole causing a fatal electric shock. Funeral services were held in Wyoming. He is survived by his widow, three children, his parents, three brothers, four sisters.

Joseph Howard Decker of Parowan is among eleven civilian employees at Edwards Air Force Base California awarded special service citations for outstanding performance through May 1 1954. Couple Dons Wedding Toys For Golden Celebration

Rosetta Page Dwight, 73, born May 31, 1881 in Parowan, died Sept. 23, 1954 in Santa Rosa California after years of ill health. Survived by daughter Norma Dwight Luck of Santa Rosa, three grandchildren Betty Elliott Olsen, Jeanne Elliott Corwin, Franklin Dwight Elliott, and one great grandson Thomas Earl Olsen. also several nieces and nephews including Carol Evans Rasmussen of Parowan and Thel a Evans Garfield of Cedar City. One daughter Eliz beth Dwight Elliot preceded her in death.

Conservation week for the Boy Scouts of America will be observed by Parowan Troops with a moving picture on wildlife in Utah shown Friday at 8 p.m. Lee Kay of the State Fish and Game Commission will speak at the First Second Ward Recreation hall. Blood drive in Paragonah misses quota for first time
Paro wan Paragonah failed to reach its blood quota during a Red Cross drive on Monday. Only 62 pints of 106 were collected, despite prior strong results in two drives. Local volunteers, nurses, and Ameri can Legion Auxiliary staff kept operations smooth, while officials hope for better turnout at future visits.
