Parowan wards each realized a neat sum from this year’s inter community chautauqua which they sponsored. The exact net is not announced but funds will aid repairs and improvements, including radiators in the chapel. Performances by Cedar City, Beaver, and Dixie numbers drew steady crowds and praise for the cast and musicians.
Attendance at the inter community chautauqua was unusually large with the college auditorium full each night. Parowan's number received the most enthusiasm, especially the feature act. Broken Dishes was staged Thursday night under Will L. Adams and drew strong applause.
Farmers in the valley sold about 62 000 pounds of alfalfa seed to Peppard Seed Company at Della for roughly 18 cents per two pounds, generating over six thousand dollars for the community. Top prices reached 17 to 14.5 cents with Miller Brothers earning the highest per unit. Local growers Culver Lyman Dalton and Mitchell reported sizable yields and Mr Wu H Lyman and his wagon station have taken a contract to supply 4 000 Christmas trees for the Los Angeles market.

An order has been placed for radiators for the East Ward chapel at an estimated cost around 769 dollars. East Ward Gleaner girls hosted the M Men last Tuesday with a banquet and dancing party attended by about fifty M Men and Gleaners. Dob a orchestra provided music for dancing.
Mr and Mrs Chester Stubbs traveled from Iron Springs to spend Thanksgiving with their relatives.
Miss Glenna Ward and her young daughter journeyed to Salt Lake City with her parents to spend Thanksgiving Day, amid family travel.
Mrs. Camilla Lowder Patterson has returned to her Los Angeles home after a brief visit with her parents here. Her husband accompanied her part of the way and left for Salt Lake City and Eastern Utah for a short business trip. They expect to return about Tuesday or Wednesday.
Districts 1 3 and 5 will vote next Wednesday in school and hospital elections. Voters choose between competing candidates and ballot measures at local polling places.
Mr Harvey Adams expects to attend the B A G C for the winter and possibly the spring quarters.

Mr and Mrs Joe Benson Jett plan to spend the winter in California. Joe has the promise of employment there, it is understood.
Mr and Mrs James N Connell relocate to Rockville where the wife holds property interests. Their permanent settlement status remains uncertain.
Mr and Mrs J J Adaing announce the birth of their daughter born Friday at their home. The event marked a joyful addition to the family with relatives visiting after the arrival.
Mr and Mrs Victor Walking anticipate a visit from Mrs Watkins’s relatives this week as plans unfold for gathering and greetings.
One of the apostles of the L. B. S church will attend the stake quarterly conference Saturday at 2 pm. Stake President Wm J Pal mer said the specific apostle has not been named. Mornings and evenings this weekend include a 10 am and 2 pm Sunday schedule with MI A meetings and ward representations.
County residents expressed thanks for health harvests and plenty, with families visiting home from school for the holiday. Parowan hosted a Junior class dance, Cedar City held an Elk’s charity ball and Rotary event supporting local families, distributing flour sugar and potatoes to about fifty households.
Special to the Times relatives gathered Thursday November 20 to celebrate Aunt Mary Jensens birthday. She is the widow of P. M. Jensen last male in the Jensen line and mother of ten children. The group included eight living children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. An elaborate banquet followed the celebration with turkeys pies cakes and a birthday cake.
After Thanksgiving local merchants push Christmas stock into display windows. The Gift Shoppe shows ready inventory while Farowan Mercantile plans Monday morning readiness. Local shoppers are urged to focus on homegrown options over distant sources as Santa’s season nears.
